Doug has spent his entire life asking the right questions as a key ingredient for his initial and ongoing success.
As an inquisitive boy from good old Adelaide, after completing his training as an electronic engineer in the early 1980s, Doug’s first proper business in the UK involved producing radio shows and interviewing rock stars such as the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Talking Heads, Sting, Pink Floyd, Mark Knofler and many more – what a great way to develop your questioning skills
by sitting face to face with the world’s greatest rock legends – and we have some fun digging into his experience with many of my music heroes.
And his constant questioning and pursuit of improvement and innovation also led him to become a world record holder in an obscure branch of cycling.
Since then, Doug has gone on to entrepreneurially build a number of companies in the UK, Europe, South East Asia and Australia – mostly commercialising new ideas.
He’s also founded a business in organics, acquired a boutique tourism business, and made several angel investments.
Along his evolving progression, he’s built expertise in investment management and capital raising via his experience with early stage venture capital funds.
Doug now loves filling his days working with innovative companies. Doug is motivated by questioning, testing and helping businesses bring new products to the market.
